Go Big or Go Home…

dare to dreamGo Big or Go Home!  That has always been my motto of life! So, even in the midst of a recession why would I do anything different?

Wow!  What a whirlwind the past 2 months have been!  A few short weeks ago I had no idea I would be leaving the security of the corporate office, bi-weekly paycheck, insurance, 401k and many other perks to….follow a dream and jaunt out to  entrepreneur and startup land!?

Even though I left behind some perks I am taking back my passion for business and marketing, my freedom, my time and my life!  No more wasting time, money and sleepless hours following the direction of a CEO who knows only enough about marketing to spin his or her business into cycles of wasted ROI, lost market share and brand equity.  Time to focus on proven marketing strategies and tactics to build not only my own business, but our client businesses.  I can't wait to help them grasp new technologies, social media and marketing programs to grow their businesses, even in a recession!

A lot has happened the past few weeks.  We have officially incorporated a business, became active and participating members of the Chamber of Commerce, are working with awesome clients, launched our website, building several local member programs, spinning up social media workshops and even some awesome super secret stuff we can't share yet.

What's most exciting, is thanks to God's helping hand, we have crafted a business plan that is so exciting I want to pop every time I discuss with our business partners.  Of course, it fits our motto “Go Big or Go Home”.  The marketing agency is just the beginning my friends of an infrastructure to capture and integrate the capabilities of social media and technology to serve God and our community.  We look forward to providing others the security we are leaving behind in the corporate walls, providing jobs for those who want to think BIG and never stop dreaming. We will surround them with a team of good people that want to give, live and enjoy more in life than just a paycheck.

You may be reading this thinking…”geeze this is a bit quirky for a business blog”.   Business is more than numbers and desks filled with robots.  Business is about people.  It's about connecting with people.  Having a conversation with them and looking past a cubicle wall or the customer check.  We are building a business of people. A business that will focus on the community of people who love their businesses.

Don't worry we'll have plenty of content, whitepapers and blog postings regarding social media, marketing strategies, analytics, tweets and the next great technology.  However, if you're interested in knowing who we are, what makes us tick and see as an example how we build a business that succeeds, then this section of the blog will be for you.  We promise to share our ups, downs, good and bad with the goal that you can also learn from our experiences.

If this still doesn't interest you, then no worries!  Simply skip past it, we won't get our feelings hurt.

But if does, hold on tight team, time for turbo….as we take the dreams of many FRUITION!

Pam, good luck to you on your new endeavor. I did the same thing at the beginning of the year. It has been an exciting and, at times, scary ride.

I'm in Charlotte and you're in Texas so the odds of direct competition seem low. If you ever want to chat or brainstorm ideas, let me know.

This much I have learned, 8 to 5 needs to be as focused on selling as much as possible. Blogging, creating website content, etc., if at all possible, are best done during non-selling hours.

One other thing, this experience has tested my faith (in myself) and my Faith. It has also allowed me to produce some of the best work of my career. I cut about 60 days off of a start-up's timeline by giving him an outsourced option…It's been a long time since I had that kind of an impact on a business and I was a VP of Marketing for over 10 years.

    God bless,

P.S. Love the website. Mine has been modified so many times that what was once very nice is now terrible. It's getting a make-over in October.
